“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” -Nelson Mandela
Often, we are fearful of what lies ahead because of the way we grew up. Overtime, we have developed anxiety and fear due to our environment or lack of support. We develop the habit of anxiety because a lot of us did not get to see the people around us shoot for their dreams. Anything new comes our way, we run from it and often times, we are running away from our abundance. Our souls are yearning for something new that can give it some light or something old we have hidden. There are times, you may feel depressed or out of pocket because of the lack of joy. There is something out there that brings you joy for you. There is something that you are good at that can be shared with the world, even if you think it won’t have an impact.
Many times, we are ashamed by what we think people will say or think of us. Honestly, people will have something to say about what you are doing because they are just as fearful and full of anxiety like you. The difference between you and them will be is if you actually get up and follow the path you know is meant for you.
Using Your Hidden Talents
Everyone has their own unique talent. It may be a broad topic or a lot of people doing the same thing, but the way you do it has its own twist. It may be something small, but people may find value in it simply because of your personality or the way you may present it. You never know who you will inspire with your talents. You may not inspire some people and that is okay. Your talents aren’t for everybody, but it is for somebody.
There may be that one person you inspire that looks like you. There may even be that one person you inspire who has been through the same things you have, but never knew anyone to overcome it. The list can go on and on. Your talents aren’t for you to keep hidden. Talents are meant to be expressed, to shed great energy and love into the world we live in. The world desperately needs your gifts. You never know whose life you may save, or who’s gifts you may help unlock with your talent. The story you have been holding on to may deem powerful to someone who isn’t as strong as you.
Replacing Your Fears with Faith
Naturally fear will interfere with acting on something unknown. It’s human nature. Faith, on the other hand is taking on the unknown regardless of the interference of fear. My favorite saying is ‘Do it anyway.’ Despite being fearful, do it anyway. If you know that it is something that makes you happy and can help others in the process of your happiness, go for it. Society has shaped us to believe that if fear is written all over it to run or hide from it, but the strongest people are developed by taking on the storm of fear. We can’t be fearful of what others may say, who we hurt, or fearing being unworthy. We have to be faithful on who we can help, finding value in ourselves, and how what we do can change things for the better.
If you resist doing something so much, I say give it a try. The unknown road that lies before you can be a way to reveal some things you didn’t know about yourself. It can uncover some hidden talents you didn’t know you had or forgot you possessed. The only person holding you back is you. You will never know what abundance truly is and feels like unless you go for your dreams.
Below, I will leave you with a few affirmations that can help guide yourself through fear and anxiety.

Ashley
