Quote of the Blog
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” – Carl Jung
Recently, I took a two-day mini trip for solitude in the woods and explored an area that seemed to be a great place for a modern hippie lifestyle. I rented this tiny house in Crestone, Colorado on Air BNB called the Gnome Cabin and it was an amazing glamping experience. The art on the wall expressed true self-expression. The environment gave a perfect mixture of peace, balance, and an awakened sense of self. Not to mention, I just so happened to arrive on the day of a full moon. (Awesome coincidence, right?!)
Insightful Mini Vacation
About twenty minutes from Crestone, in the small town of Moffat, I made a visit to a hot spring called Joyful Journey. I recommend trying it out. $18 for a day pass was worth the relaxation. During my soak in the hot tub, I had an interesting conversation with a 77-year-old gentleman. He noticed me reading a book called “Honoring Your Self”, by Hob that I brought along with me from the Gnome Cabin for a great read (I returned it.).
He approached me and mentioned he didn’t want to bother me but noticed the book I was reading. Recently, he started becoming more into spiritual, self-help books and books that focused on human consciousness. After mistaken my age for younger than I was, he compared his generation to Gen-X through mine (Millennial).
While enjoying the view of the sun sitting over the mountains, he said, “I find it interesting how the younger generation and self-awareness is changing the trajectory of the world. We’re becoming more aware of our natural selves.” This conversation for me was like drinking a tall glass of ice cold water on a hot day! Of course I agreed and responded by mentioning how being more “human” and authentic can make empower us as people. We have the ability to readapt to a sense of healing and rebuilding the world from the need to have a false identity of self.
I was amazed at how he newly found his spiritual connection and how it could contribute to the purpose to humanity at the age of 77. Our chat was eye opening at how powerful we are as people. If that doesn’t give us the motivation to keep evolving and returning to true authentic purpose, I’m not sure what will.
So, keep building your self-awareness and continue to make a positive impact on this world!
